One of the hardest parts about being a mom is watching your child suffer and not being able to help them. Those of you who have a child with eczema know how uncomfortable it can be, not only of your little one, but for the entire family, as it can make a child frustrated and irritable and can affect their sleep, which in turn can keep the whole household awake at night.

And just like that, we are back to school! This week, it doesn’t take more than a few swipes on Instagram to see proud parents posting pictures of their bright-eyed little ones with fresh hair cuts, new shoes and a chalkboard full of stats for the beginning of Grade ‘X’. Well-meaning parents load up their kids’ backpacks each morning with all the essentials, without giving much thought to the greater issue of how much is actually safe to saddle a growing child with?
I often joke that I’m a full time mom of 1.75 children. Being 33 weeks pregnant, with an active 2 year old in tow, let’s just say it’s not always a walk in the park. Plus, let’s face it: at 37 years old, I’m no Spring Chicken.
