Lana has worked in the field of perinatal mental health (pregnancy and postpartum) for over 12 years. She is passionate about helping new moms transition to motherhood. It is not uncommon for a new mom to experience feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy when she cannot live up to the unrealistic expectation of a "perfect" mom.
At the very least, becoming a mother is an adjustment that takes time. Transitioning to motherhood is difficult; bonding and attachment does not always happen right away. There is help – you are not alone! Lana tailors the length and type of therapy to individual needs as some benefit from a structured program while others benefit from a more flexible approach, combining different types of therapy.
Lana’s other areas of practice include depression, anxiety, relationship/couples counselling, life transitions, and coping skills. She also offers psychodynamic psychotherapy that explores long-standing issues stemming from the past and how they influence life events, relationships, one’s present view of self, and the world. This insight-oriented psychotherapy aims to increase self-awareness, discern patterns, and facilitate personal growth and development to help you get "unstuck" and move forward.
